The process of making rope is incredibly simple: separate the fibers into two halves, twist one half away from you, then wrap it towards you, then repeat with the other half. If you allow the rope to split, and split, and split again, the rope begins to branch like something growing. Soon a network of branches hangs from the wall, twisting, drooping, extending in all directions. No two installations of the artwork can ever be the same as the hundreds of fibers are free to move in their own way. The branches have grown outwards like an organic thing, and now they take on a life of their own.
More to come.
