In Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, a team of actors have 38 possible scenes that they can perform over the course of 30 minutes. The audience is given a "Show Menu" with the number and title of each scene so viewers can call out the number of scenes that they would like to see perform. Taking these requests from the audience, the actors see how many scenes they can get through before the times runs out.
During my time as a teacher and graphic designer at Valor Christian High School, the advanced acting class put on this show as their end-of-the-year showcase. The students asked me to create a wild, helter-skelter design to go along with the show's madcap energy. I applied the design to posters, t shirts, social media, promo cards, tickets, and the "show menu."
